Party voting cohesion

For each division we find the side (Content / Not Content) that the majority of a party's voting peers took, then measure the share of that party who voted with the majority. Averaged across divisions, this is the party's cohesion: 100% = the party always votes as a bloc. Crossbench peers, who have no whip, are expected to score low.

Methodology

Composition counts current members (membership status “current”). Crossbench peers are grouped separately from their nominal party where flagged.
Interest value sums the declared monetary value on registered interests where one is given; the great majority of Lords interests carry no explicit value, so where no values exist we fall back to interest counts.
Voting cohesion is the average, across divisions, of the share of a party's voting peers who sat on that party's majority side (Content / Not Content). Computed over recent recorded divisions. Lords divisions are recorded from the current Parliament onward, so cohesion reflects only that window.
Most active peers ranks by votes cast plus questions tabled, a coarse engagement proxy, not a measure of legislative influence.
