Repayment outlook by university
For each UK university we have LEO data on, what does the median graduate actually repay under Plan 2 terms? Universities ranked by writedown per graduate: the slice of the £45k typical balance the state ends up covering when 30 years run out.
What this table shows
We take each university's median graduate earnings at year 1 and year 5 after graduation (DfE LEO data, latest year), simulate 30 years of Plan 2 income-contingent repayments on a typical £45,000 starting balance at the plan's typical lifetime interest rate (RPI+1.5%), and see what's left at year 30.
That residual is the writedown: the state's subsidy to the median graduate of that university. It's the figure that doesn't show up in any university's annual report, because they got their fees up front.
